L'installazione di più certificati SSL su un server in modo che utilizzino tutti il medesimo IP è possibile tramite il protocollo SNI (Server Name Indication)
Mentre questo protocollo è gestito su tutte le distribuzioni Linux, in ambiente Windows è possibile solo a partire da Windows Server 12 ed IIS 8.

Per versioni di Windows o IIS precedenti, è necessario utilizzare un IP differente per ciascun certificato.
